Eclipses

There are two types of eclipses, solar and lunar. Both of these can occur either partially or in totality.

A solar eclipse ocurs when the Sun, Moon and Earth are aligned so that a shadow cast by the Moon falls upon the Earth.

A lunar eclipse ocurs when the Sun, Earth and Moon are aligned so that a shadow cast by the Earth falls upon the Moon.
