A life cycle is the process and stages of development that living things go through from the beginning to the end of their lives.

Stage Approximate Age Characteristics
Conception
Nine months prior to birth
Foetus delevelops in mothser’s womb
Baby
0-1 year
Complete dependence on adults for feeding, moving and learning
Toddler
1-3 years
Begins to become more independent, able to walk, feed and talk.
Child
3-11 years
Independence develops further both physically and mentally. Able to dress and feed themselves.
Adolescent
11-18 years
Development continues as changes begin to take place physically and mentally.
Adult
18+ years
Physically and mentally well developed
Old age
65/70+
Mobility and health may begin to suffer. deoendence on others increases.
