Mammals

« Back to Glossary Index

Mammals are animals with a backbone (vertebrate) that give birth to babies (as opposed to laying eggs) and then feed them with milk that they produce. Mammals are also warm blooded and are usually hairy. The word mammal comes from the word mammalia (of the breasts).
